Background: Fractures are frequent in patients with chronic renal failure (CRF) with secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) undergoing hemodialysis. Cinacalcet (CT) is a drug used in the reduction of hypercalcemia in these patients that acts through the lintel calcium sensor in the parathyroid gland.
